Frustration is growing in the long delay for the search of two University of Florida students whose rental car went over a cliff and into the river at King’s Canyon National Park in Central California, reports Coconuts.

The accident happened August 1, but the car has still not been recovered due to high current and predicted rain. Authorities say a recovery would be too dangerous.

At least one of the bodies may still be in the car. Video on You Tube from Siam Town US obscured one of the windows when they released video of the submerged car on You Tube.

Thiwadee “Min” Saengsuriyarit and Pakkaphol “Gof” Chairattanasongporn checked into the Reedley Hotel about an hour from the park on Tuesday.

They asked the clerk for directions to several attractions nearby, but never checked out of their room, according to YourCentralValley.com

“I opened the door. All stuff in there and they didn’t show up,” said the owner who declined to give her name. “I couldn’t sleep at night, me and my husband because they didn’t come back.”

The Thai consulate is condemning the delays saying it has always rescued foreign tourists immediately. Thai citizens are also criticizing the slowness of the rescue on Facebook, according to Siam Town US. The families of the missing students arrived in California on Friday.
