A teenager has been arrested in a series of what police are calling “brutal assaults” against Asian women in San Francisco, reports Hoodline.
The suspect has been identified as Agustin Garcia, 19. He is said to live in the Bayview area where the assaults occurred.
KRON-TV reports that in once incident a woman’s nose was fractured and she needed seven stitches to treat a laceration. Another woman’s tooth was broken.
Once Garcia was identified as a suspect, according to Hoodline, it was learned he was already in custody for three similar assaults.
“All of Garcia’s victims were Asian females,” police reported, “with every attack made unprovoked.”
Authorities believe Garcia may be behind numerous other assaults that have yet to be reported. They are urging the victims to come forward.
They released a video of one of the attacks in the hopes the video might encourage other victims to come forward. You can see that video here on CBS5.
