Private Citizen Says He Caught Man Vandalizing Sikh Temple

Sikh Temple vandalism suspectThe Los Angeles Hate Crime commission has been contacted after a man says he saw a vandal scrawling racist graffiti on a Sikh temple in Hollywood.

Karna Ray videotaped the man walking away from the scene and posted the video on Facebook.

In the video, the man is seen casually strolling down the street with what appears to be a marker in his hand seemingly unconcerned that he was being followed by Ray.

“What’s your name?” Ray is heard asking. “What’s your name, man?”

The man can be heard muttering something inaudible with his back to the camera. At one point, he flashes a peace sign.

The graffiti left at the Hollywood Sikh Temple reads “10,000 24,000 f*cking nuke Sikhs.”

Ray says he has contacted the temple, Council of American Islamic Relations and the Sikh Coalition who are all working with authorities including the Los Angeles Hate Crime Commission.

“He was brazen enough to be unfazed about being filmed,” Ray wrote on Facebook. “As he walked away, I pursued him to ask him his name and why he did what he did, and after a few blocks he flashed a razor and threatened to slit my throat.”
