An autopsy has revealed that sheriff deputies in King County, Washington fatally shot an unarmed teen in the back twice and on the back of his hand once, reports the Seattle Weekly.

The family of Tommy Le, 20, has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the department alleging a violation of civil rights.

“He was unarmed, shot in the arm, shot in the back, wasn’t attacking anybody and there were no drugs,” said Jeffery Campiche, the family’s attorney to KING5.

The Sheriff’s Department originally said that Le had a knife, but later acknowledged there was no knife.

“They just informed me that my son tried to attack a deputy with a knife, and I could not fathom Tommy would do that,” said his father, Hoai Le, to the Seattle Weekly.

Le would have graduated from high school the day he was killed.
