Prosecutors will pursue hate crime charges against three men accused of vandalizing a Chinese cemetery in Queens, reports the New York Daily News.
The men are being held on $70,000 bail after being accused of rampaging through the Cypress Hills Cemetery August 15, knocking down and spray painting gravestones and damaging 15 vaults and spray painting ten others.
The graffiti included “f*ck Jackie Chan” and “ching chong.”
“Even in their eternal rest the dead of Queens County cannot escape from the bigotry and hatred that brews in some people’s hearts,” said DA Richard Brown in a statement given to DNA Info.
The suspects have been identified as Bruno Camacho, 22, Edward Evseev, 21, and Mark Barrancos, 21.
