Police are investigating a brutal case of road rage that left an 18-year old Adelphi University student dead in a brutal case of road rage, reports the New York Daily News.
It happened Thursday after a fender bender near Long Island and today police may not be any closer to finding the killer.
Taranjit Parmar did what she was supposed to do after an accident. She got out of her vehicle to exchange information with the other driver.
Parmar inspected the damage and then got on the phone to tell her mom what happened.
Police say that’s when the other driver revved up his red pick up truck and mowed Parmar down while speeding away.
“Nothing anyone can do. She was four days away from her 19th birthday,” a family spokesman said to CBS New York
“They just back up and go on to the next parking lot” said one witness to CBS NY. “They try to exchange information and the red truck guy ran over the girl.”
Even authorities were having trouble making sense of this.
“This was a minor auto accident and an 18-year-old girl lost her life,” Nassau County Police Department spokesman Detective Vincent Garcia said Friday.
