Jake Zyrus has joined the legends of entertainment with a star on the Eastwood City Walk of Fame, the Philippine’s version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
It happened Tuesday to little fanfare.
Walk of Fame. It happened and I still can’t believe it. Thank you so much. Thank you thank you. What a great day. pic.twitter.com/V2yiBfdzK9

It’s actually his second star. The former Charice also received one in 2010 under the name Charice Pempengco.
In 2013, he came out and the following year told Oprah his “my soul is male.”

The name change became official this year which has made Zyrus the object of scorn among some fans.
I agree if you received the Walk of Fame Star for your works as Charice, but giving you one as Jake Zyrus doesn’t make sense. You’ve accomplished nothing as Jake Zyrus. If it wasn’t for your success as Charice, Jake would be singing at a club on P Burgos Street in Manila.

Zyrus did not let the tweet from Ana Sanchez pass without comment.
Lowkey hating, ma’am. Di mo na lang derechuhin ang gusto mong ipahiwatig hindi yung eenglishin mo pa ako. Wether you know the person or not, di mo dapat minamaliit. Pinoy ka. Suportahan mo. Wag bitter. God bless.

According to the Inquirer that translates to:
“Wether (sic) you know the person or not, di mo dapat minamaliit. Pinoy ka. Suportahan mo. Wag bitter. God bless (You shouldn’t belittle someone whether you know the person or not. You’re a Filipino. Support fellow Filipinos. Don’t be bitter).”
