The hashtag #AsAmCreatorRollCall was a call to Asian Americans every where to give themselves a shout out for all the creative things they do.
It was launched by graphic novelist Greg Pak who Sophia Whittemore just happened to profile yesterday for AsAmNews.

The hashtag shatters the stereotype that Asian Americans are only martial artists, doctors, lawyers, engineers, nerds, and geeks. We are a creative force that Hollywood and mainstream media will no longer be able to ignore.
Won’t tell our stories? Fine, we’ll tell our own and do it better.
It’s amazing a simple hashtag has amplified our voices.
Pak himself was even astounded.
“I found myself thinking about how each of us is more powerful than we realize — particularly when we work together,” Pak wrote. “And that one of the easiest things in the world to do is talk up the things we love so others can find out about them.
“So big, big love to everyone who’s shared something using the #AsAmCreatorRollCall tag, and big, big love to everyone who’s retweeted anything someone’s posted using that hashtag. Folks are out there doing absolutely incredible work every day. Let’s all continue sharing in 2018, building that beautiful audience for everyone, and making the world we want to live in.”
