Muslim Girl Savagely Beaten

Boca Raton Girl BeatenA father in Boca Raton, Florida says his daughter was savagely beaten because she is Muslim.

A video originally published by the father on Facebook shows a group of White girls attacking the 14 year old.

However police say they think the fight was over a boy and had nothing to do with the girl’s race.

“My daughter Manaal munshi(14 years – 9th grade student) was getting bullied by couple of school (West Boca High School, Boca Raton, FL) girls because she was Muslim. Let’s see how USA rule of law works!!” wrote Shakeel Munshi.

The story was picked up by numerous media including Raw Story.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office had a different version of the incident.

Authorities also took to social media, reported BuzzFeed, to try to quell the story.

“At NO time was “race” or “bullying” ever discussed, determined or considered to have played a role in the altercation,”authorities posted on social media.

The Department said the victim had agreed to meet about the disagreement  intending to talk, but with the other apparently intent on fighting.

The Council on American Islamic Relations, which has supported the father, is calling on the State Attorney General to get involved.

“We called for a full investigation of these events precisely to clarify the circumstances under which this teenager was hanged [sic] up by other three females. That is why we prefer also the involvement of the State Attorney’s office on this matter,” said Florida CAIR spokesperson Wilfredo A Ruiz .
