Just months after President Trump accused Pakistan of “lies and deceit,” Pakistani Americans are moving to improve what some consider deteriorating relations between the two countries.
The Daily Pakistan reported, the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) recently held a meeting with Senator Lindsey Graham to discuss the situation.
In January, a tweet by President Trump resulted in backlash by Pakistan and news outlets like Al-Jazeera claimed that under Trump’s presidency, the long-standing alliances between Pakistan and the United States were beginning to deteriorate. However, Foreign Policy experts believe that having this multipolar approach between Pakistan, The United States, and Pakistani Americans, will be vital in building back those burned bridges.
The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!
