We may soon see the introduction of Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel to the Marvel Cinematic universe.

News Hub reports that producer Kevin Feige said that the production of a Ms. Marvel film is “definitely sort of in the works.”

Marvel is definitely making strides in its efforts towards diversity in its films. Earlier this year Black Panther broke ground as the first Marvel film to feature a non-White superhero as a protagonist. Then later this year, Captain Marvel will become MCU’s first female superhero movie.

Debuting in the comics in 2013, Kamala Khan is a Pakistani American teenager from New Jersey.

According to Hornet  Captain Marvel originally went by the name of Ms. Marvel, but changed her name after an explosion caused her DNA to merge with Captain Marvel’s. Shortly after that, Pakistani American Kamala Khan took on the name of Ms. Marvel.

New Musical Express reports that character creators G. Wilson and Ian Herring stated that the inspiration for the character came from “the universal experience of all American teenagers, feeling kind of isolated and finding what they are through the lens of being a Muslim-American.”

Plans to introduce Ms. Marvel to the franchise are said to start after the premiere of the Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson.
