Disney Animation Studios is reportedly in development for a new film, Dragon Empire, according to MovieFone.

The film is set to include Cars and Cars 3 writer Kiel Murray and Moana producer Osnat Shurer.  Tangled animator Dean Wellins and head of story for Big Hero 6 and Frozen Paul Briggs are set to make their directorial debuts.

The film is set to focus on a female heroine named Jan-Nin.

Jamie Chung has shown interest in the role, Latino Review Media reports.  Chung is known for starring Once Upon A Time, The Gifted, Big Hero 6, and the upcoming Big Hero 6 television series.

Bolin, another rumored character for the film, is said to be “a comic relief” of the film as well as Jan-Nin’s 900 year old mentor.

There is also supposed to be another character named Katsu, but no details about this characters have been released at this time.

Until Dragon Empire is in full development and production actually starts, Disney Animation Studios is set to premiere the Wreck it Ralph sequel, Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck It Ralph 2,  later this year on November 21, 2018 and the upcoming sequel to Frozen, Frozen 2, next year on November 21, 2019.
