There’s no stopping Kevin Kwan these days.
CBS has committed to buying a multi-camera pilot from the best selling author titled The Emperor of Malibu, reports Variety.
The story juxtaposes two families-one from Shanghai with new money and the other from the east coast of the U.S. with old money.
If picked up, the show will likely provide more roles for Asian actors.
Kwan is once again teaming up with David Sangalli to write the script. The two are also working on a drama set in Hong Kong for Amazon about a powerful family and the business empire they control.

Kwan is still riding high on the success of the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians which is based on his best selling novels which have sold 4 million copies and grossed $232 million in movie ticket sales worldwide, according to Deadline.
