A group of senior citizens is accusing a Denny’s restaurant in Santa Clara, California of discriminating against them, reports the Silicon Valley Voice.
The incident happened on Easter weekend, but the seniors say they are now going public about their grievance because the restaurant has refused to meet with them.
It all started when the restaurant complained they were taking too long to order food after first getting their coffee.
“She keep saying the same thing. She said we cannot just order coffee, so I said ‘OK, we are going to order food’ and then she raised her voice and said ‘no, no, no, no,'”, said Andrew Koh to KCBS Radio.
“It’s very troubling that they treat customers this way,” said Asian Law Alliance Executive Director Richard Konda during a news conference, reported SV Voice.
The group walked into the restaurant to hand the manager a demand letter for a meeting. Denny’s had no comment.
Koh says all he wants is an apology.
