The nominations list for the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards just came out, and Darren Criss took to Twitter immediately after waking up to the news:
HGetting to join the Screen Actors Guild was such a huge turning point in my career. Shoutout to EASTWICK for giving me my first union job and official SAG card! I’ll never forget how exciting that was. Thank you to my fellow @sagaftra performers for this nomination! @SAGawards pic.twitter.com/mfwpbTmNCH

Criss is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
And he’s not the only Asian American that can be spotted on the full list from Variety:
Sandra Oh (Killing Eve): Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
Crazy Rich Asians: Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Awkwafina and Laverne Cox announced the nominations live on Wednesday, reports CNN.
Awkwafina retweeted the following in response to Crazy Rich Asians making the list:
When you’re announcing the @SAGawards nominations and then you become a nominee! Congrats to @awkwafina and the cast of @CrazyRichMovie for their “Best Ensemble” nomination! pic.twitter.com/lKYMSsg7SE

Bohemian Rhapsody, which celebrates rock band Queen and the legacy of lead singer Freddie Mercury, who was of Indian descent, also made the list twice. The movie will be challenging Crazy Rich Asians for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and Egyptian American actor Rami Malek is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury.
The 2019 SAG Awards ceremony, hosted by Megan Mullally, will take place on January 27th.
