Alameda County Appoints First Korean American Judge

Among the five newest additions to the Alameda County Superior Court is the California county’s first Korean American judge, Eumi K. Lee, reports East Bay Times.

Lee, 46, replaces Judge Alison Tucher, who was also recently appointed to the Court of Appeal. Lee has been a law professor at UC-Hastings since 2005, where she was also co-founder and director of the Hastings Institute for Criminal Justice from 2010 to 2012, according to her profile on the UC-Hastings website. She earned her law degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s from Ponoma College.
