Min Jin Lee’s Pachinko Picked up by Apple TV

The New York Time’s best seller Pachinko will be turned into a new drama on Apple TV, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The adaptation from Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res has been approved for eight episodes. Min Jin Lee’s novel follows the hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean American family.

Soo Hugh, a Korean American will serve as writer and executive producer. She previously lead season one of AMC’s anthology, The Terror.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hugh also sought the rights to the novel. In the end, Media Res and Hugh ended up working together on the project.
