Tiffany Young First Korean Female Artist to Win iHeart Awards

When pop artist Tiffany Young won her award for Best Solo Breakout at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, she became the first Korean female to ever win at the awards ceremony, 360 reports.

The 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards took place on Thursday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Known for her work while in the girl group Girl’s Generation, Young is promoting her recently released EP Lips on Lips.

“I am so humbled and honored that I can be a part of representing young Asian American women in music, and so grateful for my Korean and K-pop roots that have given me the opportunity to follow my dreams. This award belongs to all the fans around the world who worked hard for this. I promise I will work harder, I want to make you proud!” Young said in regards to her recent win.

Young is promoting her EP on her tour also called Lips on Lips which will conclude in Los Angeles tonight.

Young has also spoken about one of her singles on the EP, Not Barbie.

““I wanted it to be a song for every woman, man, girl, boy, any human being. I never got to say that to myself and I’m so happy that I get to open up. Not just for me, but for a generation of young woman.”

Many fans took to Twitter to praise Young for her recent award as well, K-Popped reports.
