Police have seized $35 million dollars worth of marijuana and arrested 16 people in three Atlanta-area counties, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Drug agents raided five grow houses Thursday in Clayton, Gwinnett and Henry counties.
11 Alive reports authorities found an average of 340 to 1,500 marijuana plants in each home.
“To those passing by, no one would have suspected that these five marijuana grow houses were harboring criminal activity,” Gwinnett County Police said to 11 Alive.
The suspects are accused of being part of two large drug trafficking organizations. The arrests are the result of a five month investigation.
