Ang Lee to partner with China’s Fuson Picture for his new thriller ‘Gemini Man’

China’s Fuson Picture has just signed on as a global partner to Ang Lee’s new film Gemini Man, Variety reports. Lee’s film is also backed by Skydance and Paramount Pictures

The film stars Will Smith, who plays an elite assassin being targeted by a young agent who can predict his every move. It will also star Clive Owen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Benedict Wong.

According to Indie Wire, the film will be shot in a new format. The thriller will be shot in 3D at 120 frames per second in 4k resolution. The first film to be ever be shot at 120 frames per second was Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Fuson Pictures has previously invested in Lee’s film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The company is excited to work with Lee on this new project.

“We’re very excited with the opportunity to work with Ang Lee. He is such a great director with a worldwide reputation and Gemini is a one-of-a-kind character-driven action movie we’ve never seen before’,” Li Haifeng, chairman of Fosun Pictures and senior VP of Fosun International told Variety.

Gemini Man is set to release on October 11, 2019.
