Jackie Chan is denying rumors about him signing on to star in the fourth installment of Rush Hour 4 .
The rumors resurfaced this January when Chris Tucker posted an Instagram post of him and Chan amiably holding up four fingers. No caption needed – we know what they’re suggesting. It’s been twelve years since the third installment of the iconic Rush Hour movie franchise and they’ve been teasing the fourth ever since.
Chris Tucker revealed on the Winging It podcast in January that a script was well on it’s way. “We’re working on a few things on the script right now, so we’re trying to get into production” Tucker said. “But we’re working on it and trying to get it going… Jackie Chan wants to do it, I want to do it, [the] studio wants to do it, so we’re trying to get it together.”
However, Jackie Chan released a statement on his website discrediting the rumor mill: “With respect to the above information, on behalf of Mr. Chan, we hereby declare that any and all such information, as spread by such infringers, relating to Mr. Chan providing or about to provide acting services in the motion pictures Rush Hour 4 and The Karate Kid 2 is false.”
With no official statement about Rush hour 4 and Jackie Chan’s rebuttal, we can assume that the fourth installment has not yet been greenlit.
