UPDATED:Fresh Off the Boat Renewed. Constance Wu apologizes for Tweets

While it might be good news that Fresh off the Boat has been renewed for a sixth season, NBC San Diego says that tweets from one of the shows stars, Constance Wu, confused some fans about her reaction.

Wu has since clarified her initial negative reaction, explaining the “renewal meant I would had to give up another project that I was really passionate about.”

Here’s how it all went down.

After news of the renewal broke Wu tweeted this, according to USA Today.

Wu then clarified her previous tweets for fans.

Wu, however, did not explain what caused the outrage until later Saturday.

Wu is currently in production with Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B on Hustlers. She’s also expected to be part of the two upcoming sequels to Crazy Rich Asians.
