Surveillance video caught footage of a customer using pepper spray on a nail salon employee and running away, reports KPRC.
Vickie Thon said the employee who got sprayed in the eyes is her mother and owner of Lynns Nails in Houston, Minh Nguyen.
“I was outraged because my mom, she is such a hardworking woman,” said Thon. “She’s gotten robbed before and it just saddens me.”
Thon said two women came to the salon to get their nails done on Wednesday afternoon. The first woman paid and left but then later returned to the store.
“She peeked in, opened the door and kind of waved to her friend who was getting her nails done by my mom,” explained Thon.
She claimed the customer pulled her hands away, used pepper spray in her mother’s face, and dashed out the door without paying, leaving the store filled with shocked customers.
Nguyen, who was treated by paramedics at the scene, did not suffer any severe injuries. The family has filed a police report in hopes that the woman will be caught.
“I’m very worried that she is still out there,” Thon said. “She could be doing this to other shops and other stores.”

RE: Customer maces nail salon owner and runs away without paying: I am sorry but nail salons should charge before doing service! It’s starting to get too dangerous for these people working there. This wouldn’t have happened if the technician was non-Asian.
