The 18th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas to screen 54 films

Next week, Dallas will showcase the hard work of Asian Americans and Asians in film. The 18th annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas (AFFD) will take place on July 18 through 25 at the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. The festival will be playing 54 films from 11 different countries, with The Odd Family: Zombie on Sale kicking off the opening night.

AFFD is a non-profit organization that was created in 2002. It has since become the largest Asian and Asian American cinema screening festival in the South. For the last 16 years, the AFFD has provided countless opportunities for Asian and Asian American creators to share their stories and visions.

According to NBC News, this year’s festival will include 32 film screenings and 20 premieres. Four of those films will premiere worldwide. The genre of the movies will be comprised of comedy, crime drama, anime, documentary, drama, thriller, period and romantic comedy.

The festival will begin on July 18th at 7 p.m, followed by an opening night party and receptions. Tickets to the festival and screenings can be found on their website.
