Awkwafina posted a heart-warming tweet Tuesday morning, the kind that she says her Aunt Linda would normally post.
“Im not my Aunt Linda so I don’t usually post stuff like this. But I’m glad I read it on this Tuesday morning,” Awkwafina captioned the tweet.
The tweet was a photo of a quote from the film adaptation of F Scott Fitz Gerald’s short story, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” The quote tells its readers that it is never too late to be who you want to be.
“I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again,” the quote says.
This tweet is different from Awkwafina’s usual Twitter repartee. It’s reflective of the new level of depth The Farewell brought to Awkwafina’s career. She’s a comedic actor who can thrive in dramatic roles. She’s a second-generation Chinese American who will spend six hours a day studying to perfect her Mandarin for a role.
