Those who engage in Asian spotting definitely caught the quick glimpse of Mike Moh in the extended trailer for the new Quentin Tarantino movie, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
Moh plays Bruce Lee in this movie which stars Leonardo DeCaprio and Brad Pitt as a Hollywood actor and his stunt double.
Moh has had several small parts in such shows as Empire and Marvel’s Inhuman and also owns a martial arts school in Wisconsin, according to Deadline.
“Everybody knows what Bruce looks like, how he sounds, how he oozes charisma and attitude on the screen. If I wasn’t spot-on, it’d be very easy to see that I missed,” he told Character Media.

Moh is very aware of the stereotype of the Asian as the martial artist, but it’s a part of him, and he doesn’t deny it.
“I want to be a martial arts action guy and it’s not because I want to fall into a stereotype and that’s an easy thing I can get cast in,” Moh said, according to Colorlines. “I just happen to love martial arts. I happen to be Asian. And yes, I do get upset when people just assume I know martial arts. But if there is something to be associated with Asians, I think it’s cool that it’s something so bad ass.”
