Hyde Park Entertainment company is opening a new global office, Hyde Park Entertainment Asia, in Chennai, India, reports IndieWire. This is part of the company’s ongoing diversity and inclusion commitment to producing more Indian and Asian films for the global spotlight.

The global franchise is founded by award-winning producer and the 2016 UN India Goodwill Ambassador Ashok Amritraj. According to the company’s website, Hyde Park calls itself the “cutting-edge option to the traditional Hollywood studio system.” The group will continue its long-term partnership with Image Nation Abu Dhabi amidst opening its new Asian office. Hyde Park’s parent location is in Los Angeles, with an extension office in London.

“Now more than ever the Hollywood dream needs to be multicultural and all-inclusive,” Amritraj said in an official statement. “I look forward to collaborating with wonderful Indian and Asian talent long into the future to tell unique and authentic stories that reflect our global world.”

Amritraj has been leading Hyde Park Entertainment for 35 years and developing projects in Asia since the 1990s. According to Variety, Amritraj is one of the world’s leading producers with more than 100 films credited in his name.

Hyde Park Entertainment Asia will focus on venturing towards more Indian stories for English- and local-language audiences. According to Deadline, this new division’s initial slate will include Pashmina, a large scale animated musical; Break the Room with Paul Feig, an Indian American comedy series that echos the style of Fresh Off the Boat; Maximum City, a film based off of Pulitzer Prize finalist book by Suketu Mehta exploring the power dynamic and political relationship within the underworld of Mumbai; and much more.
