Season 4 of Killing Eve Renewed before season 3 debut

Sandra Oh plays main character Eve Polastri, a morally-questioning MI-6 agent, on BBC America’s Killing Eve. The third season will premiere this spring.

Eve Polastri is back — and won’t be leaving any time soon.

Season 4 of Killing Eve is indeed happening, and it was given the green light before the current season premiere airs, according to fansite WizardsandWhatnot.

The BBC America series’ third season will premiere this spring, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly. Last season’s finale showed a love confession turned (potentially) deadly, with MI-6 agent Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) being shot by arch-nemesis-turned-brief-ally and deadly Russian assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer).

While it is very likely Eve will survive the encounter, Oh teased the implications of her character’s “brutal lesson” about betrayal in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Killing Eve’s second season received high ratings and universal critical acclaim, with praise of the show’s dark humor and compelling, female-centered story lines, as well as its usual cat-and-mouse dynamic between Eve and Villanelle.

The third season has confirmed the return of two recurring characters: head of the Russian MI-6 operations, Carolyn Marterns (Fiona Shaw), and Villanelle’s handler and mentor of sorts, Konstantin Vasiliev (Kim Bodnia), as well as a new head writer and executive producer, Suzanne Heathcote from Fear the Walking Dead.

A showrunner for the fourth season has not been determined, said Entertainment Weekly.

The BBC America series has been critically acclaimed, winning a Peabody Award last year, as well as multiple Best Actress awards for its lead actresses, Oh and Comer. It also won 9 Emmy nominations last year.
