Asian American homeowners in rich zip codes targeted by burglars

Jonathan Ceballos, Juan Manuel Rodriguez-Lopez, Jesus Montemiranda-Salazar, and Sergio Rodriguez-Lope all face charges of burglary in Maryland

A disturbing pattern of Asian American homeowners being targeted by burglars has surfaced once again-this time in Maryland.

WJLA reports burglars victimized Asian American homeowners on three consecutive days in Montgomery County near Washington, DC earlier this month.

One home lost nearly $250,000 in jewelry, gemstones and coins.

Two days later burglars made off with a solid gold pig figurine and a gold dragon figurine, each valued at $7,000.

The very next day a third home was hit, but this time police were waiting. Undercover officers followed the suspect’s vehicle out of the neighborhood and arrested four men when the SUV stopped in a parking lot.

Just three months ago, police in the Dallas-Ft Worth area arrested three men accused of robbing Asian American households in Plano and two other cities.

One year ago, police warned of a statewide pattern of Asian business owners being targeted by burglars as well in New Jersey.

  1. It appears that the punishment does not fit the crime. There is no remorse given or shown to the victims of these multiple crimes. What do you think will stop these criminals?
