Disgraced former California State Senator Leland Yee has been transferred from a state prison to a half way house, reports NBC Bay Area.

Yee is serving a five year term for conspiracy to engage in racketeering and is scheduled to be released from the halfway house in June to his freedom.

An FBI undercover sting caught him promising votes and guns in exchange for campaign donations. The federal sting operation also netted reputed Chinatown mobster Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow and former school board member Keith Jackson. Chow ultimately received a life sentence and Jackson received a nine-year sentence.
