Priyanka Chopra, Mick Jaggar, Will Smith, Jonas Brothers and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan join Bollywood for coronavirus relief

Some of the biggest international stars joined in a virtual concert for COVID-19 relief for India Sunday.

I for India, organized by directors Karah Johar and Zoya Akhtar, attracted dozens of Bollywood celebrities and stars from around the world including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Diljit Dosanjh, Dulquer Salmaan, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Ayushmann Khurrana, Mindy Kaling, and Jack Black, according to the Economic Times

“India holds a really warm and special spot in my heart,” actor Will Smith, who has visited India several times, said in a short video, reported CNN. “It’s really like a home away from home for me.”

Money raised by the I for India concert went to support essential workers and other COVID relief efforts through the non-profit, Give India. Funds were matched by philanthropists and charitable organizations including the A.T.E Chandra Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Omidyar Network India and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.

“The world is going through so much right now. There’s so much pain in the world,” Mindy Kaling said during the benefit. “I just want to send as much love as I can to my brothers and sisters in India,” she said as she urged viewers to donate.

“You are not alone,” said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, reported NDTV.
