Casts of ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ and ‘Kim’s Convenience’ to Host Virtual Table Reads for Charity

The casts of “Fresh Off the Boat” and “Kim’s Convenience” will reunite on May 30 for an online charity table read, Deadline reports.

To celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, each cast will be reading the scripts of their show’s pilot episode. Fresh Off the Boat‘s Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen will reunite for the table read.  Kim’s Convenience stars Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Simu Liu, Andrea Bang, Andrew Phung and Nicole Power will be present digitally.

The public can watch the table reads for free. The night will begin with the cast of Kim’s Convenience. The Fresh Off the Boat cast will read after.

There will be a Zoom Q&A session following the table reads for fans who donated $10. The donations will go to Asian American and Asian Canadian nonprofit arts organizations like the theater company East West Players; the media arts collective and presenters of the L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival Visual Communications;  and Reel Asian, which hosts Toronto’s Reel Asian International Film Festival.

The event will be streamed on the Facebook and Youtube pages of Seed & Spark, a crowdfunding organization, according to CBC. It begins at 6 p.m. PST.
