Patient who accused nurse of calling her ch*nk faces new charges. Hospital silent.

By Louis Chan, AsAmNews National Correspondent

A Wisconsin woman who police arrested after accusing a nurse at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI of calling her a ch*nk now faces new charges in a domestic violence case.

Court records obtained by AsAmNews show authorities filed two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence charges against Bao Lor 10 weeks after the confrontation at the hospital.

In that case, prosecutors hit Lor with one count of battery to an emergency rescue worker and one misdemeanor of disorderly conduct. She has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

AsAmNews first reported on Sunday police arrested Lor in February after she says the nurse pinched her arm and wouldn’t let go as she was on her back on a treatment table. Lor says the nurse challenged her to do something about it and that’s when she raised her leg to kick the nurses hand off her arm. Lor went public with her story after much deliberation.

Bao Lor says this photo shows the bruising on her arm left by a nurse who pinched her there and would not let go.

Just priot to that, Lor said the nurse had told her “Didn’t I tell you, you ch*nk . You’re not getting any medicine because you’re pregnant and a ch*nk.”

In the domestic violence case, Lor says her husband had had too much to drink and that she called police hoping they would get him to leave until he became sober.

Her husband, Jordan Chang, spoke to AsAmNews and said he does not support the domestic violence case against his wife. He dismissed the incident as a misunderstanding. He said police interviewed both of them and decided his wife was the aggressor.

Because she was already facing felony charges in the hospital case, Lor also faces a new felony charge of bail jumping.

“Throughout the whole situation with the police, I told them I’m not pressing any charges,” Chang told AsAmNews. “They made the determination what they’re going to do.”

Lor’s next court appearance on the domestic violence charge is set for June 16.

She also is scheduled for a plea hearing on June 8 in the hospital incident.

Despite numerous attempts by AsAmNews, HSHS St. Nicholas has yet to comment on the accusation one of its nurses used a racial slur at least twice directed at Lor.

We first reached out to the hospital on Sunday during a three day weekend, but followed up on Tuesday and again on Wednesday.

People on social media have said the the hospital has been deleting negative comments about the case from its Facebook page. A link on the hospital’s website to its Facebook page is now broken. A search for St. Nicholas Facebook page found a generic business page with the notation that this page has been merged with the hospital’s Facebook page.

HSHS St. Nicholas is a Catholic hospital run by the Hospital Sisters Health System. The Hospital Sisters of St. Francis say on their website that they are devoted to “compassionate care for the poor, outcast and oppressed in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

Sheboygan’s police chief confirmed to AsAmNews his department investigated a citizen’s complaint filed by Lor against his officers.

Lor said she filed the complaint after she accused officers of not getting her medical treatment while in custody despite her going into a seizure. She also accused the arresting officer of punching her in the stomach.

“An internal Investigation was completed.” Chief Christopher Domagalski said to AsAmNews. “None of the allegations made in the complaint were sustained as the evidence in the case does not support the allegations made. The Sheboygan Police Department believes in continuous improvement and therefore the Officer and a Sergeant involved in the incident were coached on actions they can take that may lead to better outcomes in the future.”

Lor is hoping to get legal representation. Her Go Fund Me page has raised nearly $5,000 as of this morning.
