A Naval Academy Alumni Association board member has resigned after he and his wife went on a racist rant heard live on Facebook.
Scott Bethmann and his wife Nancy were having a private conversation when somehow he launched a live event on Facebook.
“I’ve got the emails about how we’re supporting and we need to fix this problem, f— you,” he can be heard saying. “So all the White people have to say something nice to the Black b—- that works in the office. But the black b—- don’t get fired. It’s bulls—. Management’s going to fire the White people.”
Later his wife Nancy is heard making reference to the Black community and f*cking Asians and Scott also uses the N word, reports Military.com.
“They’re gonna get the blacks and the f***ing Asians from China who love to steal all of our intellectual property,” Nancy says according to the Daily Mail.
“Are you against the n****rs?” Scott asks.
More than 30 minutes into the conversation, he realizes he’s live on Facebook.
“Somehow I clicked onto some live event,” he says at one point.
Scott is treasure on the alumni board of the U.S. Naval Academy.
“Today I was made aware of statements posted to a public forum attributed to an alumni volunteer of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association Board of Trustees representing the Jacksonville, FL, chapter. These attributed statements do not represent the mission and values of the Alumni Association, the Naval Academy or the U.S. Navy. As volunteer leaders in our communities, we must be inspirations and examples for all citizens,” Retired Admiral Samuel Locklear said. “As Chairman of our Alumni Association, I have accepted the resignation of this alumnus effective today, and asked the Jacksonville, FL, chapter to take appropriate action to appoint a new Chapter Trustee,” he said to ActionNews Jax.com.
