New York woman coughs on customer after being scolded for not wearing face mask

A customer angry after being chastised by an Asian American customer for not wearing a face mask is seen intentionally coughing on the other woman.

The video posted on Facebook shows the woman getting angry after being questioned, then walking up to the other person, leaning forward and coughing into her face.

It happened in Astoria, New York at New York City Bagel and Coffee House, according to a blog posted by Mashew.

The woman has been identified as Lauren Balsamo who worked at Assistant Research Coordinator at Weill Cornell Medicine in Astoria.

Cornell says she has not worked at the center for several months, but condemned her actions.

Some have begun to call Balsamo Coughing Karen.
