The personal assistant of a tech CEO found beheaded earlier this week has been arrested for the murder of Fahim Saleh.

The New York Post reports 21-year old Tyrese Devon Haspil is in custody and expected to be charged with murder.

The motive is reportedly stolen cash. Haspil worked as both the chief of staff of Saleh’s venture capital firm Adventure Capital and his personal assistant.

Haspil is accused of stealing $100,000 from Saleh, who instead of reporting Haspil to police tried to work out a repayment plan.

“This was an act of charity that turned into an act of murder,” a source told the Post.

Boston.com reports Haspil will be charged with second degree murder and other crimes.

“Fahim is more than what you are reading,” his family said. “He is so much more. His brilliant and innovative mind took everyone who was a part of his world on a journey and he made sure never to leave anyone behind.”

According to Forbes, police believe Haspil stabbed Saleh to death on Monday, but returned on Tuesday to cover up the crime. Haspil escaped the scene when Saleh’s sister showed up to check on her brother.

Saleh was born to Bangladeshi parents in Saudi Arabia. The family settled in New York and Saleh graduated from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 2009.
