Breaking: Trump to exclude undocumented from census count

President Trump is expected to issue an executive order to ban undocumented immigrants from being counted in the 2020 census, reports Reuters.

If accurate, the move would continue a pattern by the White House to issue controversial decisions on late Friday afternoon, when people’s attention are diverted by their weekend plans and not the news.

The courts blocked an earlier attempt by Trump to ask a citizenship question on the census.

The Yappie reports the order by Trump would likely cause confusion and invite more court challenges. Asian Americans are the least likely to fill out the census, according to the Census Bureau’s own research.

An undercount would deprive the AAPI community of badly needed funds to health care and interpretive services, and also to representation in Congress as the Census is used to draw up Congressional maps.

  1. Once again Trump exposes his racist impulses and contempt for the rule of law which he claims to be the champion of. The constitution clearly states the census shall be a count of ALL persons, making no distinction re: race or citizenship. One can hardly wait for November 3 to come around!
