Sikh mans car tagged with racist graffiti

A Sikh man in Seminole near Tampa is offering prayers for the person or persons resposnible for spray painting his family car with racist graffiti.

Amit Pal Singh Saini says someone found the words  “Sikh F*&$ U” spray painted on his family vehicle in front of his home on broad daylight.

“I don’t know who did this but we pray that they are able to rid themselves of the hate and frustration inside of them,” he wrote on Facebook. My doors are open for them to have an open conversation/dialogues with anyone. Let’s spread love not hate, let’s accept and appreciate diversity.”

Singh Saini says the actions won’t stop his community from standing “together in the face of any hate.”

He vowed to continue to serve the community and to “spread the message of love to all.”

He added “Sikhs are still widely misunderstood and there is a greater need for communication and genuine dialogue to minimize hate between people.”

Singh Saini is an active member of the Sikh Society of Central Florida. He told WFTV he thinks he was targeted for his religious beliefs.

“Over the past few decades instances of bullying, violence and hate crimes have been commonplace for Sikhs across the United States,” United Sikhs said in a statement to the Big News Network. “The community because of its visible identity has had to face routine injustice and has been targeted for their distinct appearance.”
