A group of Democrats are reportedly moving behind the scenes to stop Joe Biden from nominating Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) to be his running mate, reports CNBC.
Some are still upset at attacks Harris made during one of the early Democratic Presidential debates on Biden about his early opposition to busing to integrate schools.
According to Politico, the attack by Harris left former Sen Chris Dodd, who sits on Biden’s VP search committee, stunned. “Dodd felt it was a gimmick, that it was cheap,” an unidentified Biden donor said to the political news site. That donor says Dodd is pushing for California Rep Karen Bass(D-CA) who he feels would be a “loyal number 2.”
Harris has dismissed lingering concerns about her attack on Biden saying ” that’s politics.”
Other detractors say she is too ambitious, an attack that Vivian Kane in The Mary Sue said would never be made on a man.
Biden has said he will make his decision about a Vice Presidential choice next week.
