Fresh off the success of their single Pretty Lies, the San Fernando Valley trio Run River North has followed up the indie hit with the lyric video for their new single Cemetery.
Premiering on August 14th, the video features shots from trains “somewhere in South Korea” as the backdrop for the lyrics, and already has fans liking the new track.
One fan said they would continue to sit in their car while they kept listening, and another said “this is so beautiful [sic] im actually crying”.
On the new single member Alex Hwang said:
Cemetery is inspired by true events—it was a date idea that I suggested to my now wife, Susan. I sometimes enjoy cemeteries for the calm and quiet, and with death being so close, literally beneath us, it’s a sobering but reflective place for me. To open that part of me to someone, it felt very vulnerable and seemed like the next step in our relationship. She said yes to my weird date and this creature of a song started to come through.
In addition to the new lyric video, Run River North will be releasing their new album later this year, even among pandemic concerns.
During an interview with American Songwriter last month, group member Alex Hwang stated that “Adding the pandemic has just meant that we have to get a little more creative with our production and collaborations”.
