A t-shirt which used a vulgar term to describe Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris as a prostitute has been removed from sale by a third party seller on Amazon, reports USA Today.
A item sold by The Oxygen Bandit read Joe and the Hoe.
Attorney Demetria Edwards told CNN Business she sent an email to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos calling the t-shirt “racist, sexist and offensive” and asked that the items be removed.
The plea gained momentum when criminal defense attorney Lesa Pamplin tweeted about it.
Amazon released the following statement:
“All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. We are working to remove these products.”
Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh last week used the offensive term on his radio show as well as has been spreading misinformation about Harris, according to Newsweek.
Earlier this week, the NBA fired photographer Bill Baptist for using the term in a meme.
