Hoping to capitalize on the president’s strong relationship with India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Trump campaign released a new commercial featuring the two together during Trump’s visit to India.
Indian Americans have traditionally voted for Democrats, but the GOP clearly feels they are gettable.
“America loves India. America respects India. And America will always be a faithful and loyal friend to the Indian people,” Trump says in the commercial.
Left unsaid in the commercial is the President’s ban on H1B visas, which many Indians have utilized to immigrate to the United States.
Al Mason, co-chair of the Trump Victory Indian American Finance Committee, says his research shows a significant number of Indian Americans in battleground states have come to the GOP, according to the Print. Mason did not release any specific numbers or survey results.
The Yappie recently reported Democrats have also rolled out new ads in both Hindi and Chinese.
It’s an effort by Democrats to strengthen their lead in the House and to flip more Senate seats blue.
