An elderly driver crashed into an outdoor dining area in San Jose, California on Monday, NBC Bay Area reports. The crash killed one woman and injured seven others.
The 69-year-old man crashed into an outdoor dining area at Grand Century Mall in San Jose’s Little Saigon. He was driving a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner and may have been in medical distress leading up to the accident, CBS San Francisco reports.
The SUV plowed into the outdoor eating area at Dynasty Chinese seafood restaurant at 1001 Story Road. The victims were three woman and five men. On Monday, CBS San Francisco reported that two victims were in critical condition.
One of the female victims died on Tuesday, San Jose Inside reports. Her identity is being withheld until authorities can contact next of kin. The crash is one of two similar collisions that took place within miles and hours of each other.
