A 70-year old mother is bloodied, but thankful to be alive after being attacked in her own home in Winnipeg.
CBC reports the incident happened when Nho Nguyen heard someone kicking on her door. When the kicking stopped, she opened it up to check the damage.
That’s when she says a woman barged in, grabbing her hair and punching and kicking her face.
“She lives in this house alone,” said her daughter Linda Huynh who posted photos of her mom on Instagram. “I’m just kind of begging our neighbors to really look out for one another,” said Linda to City News.

The beating was so fierce, blood splattered on the door and onto the short steps leading up to the home.

Her mother escaped the attacker, running down the street until a man stepped into stop the attack.
The suspect ran off and is still on the loose.
Police describe the neighborhood as a high drug trafficking area, but say its too early to know what triggered the attack.
“I hope emotionally she’ll be OK, but its really tough,” Linda told City News.
The attacker is described as in her 30’s with a round face, round nose and was wearing grey sweat pants, black jacket and a grey hoodie.
