Five elderly residents have died from the Coronavirus in just five days at a senior center in Edmonton, Canada, reports Calgary CTV News.
The deaths began November 25 with the latest reported on November 29th.
They all occurred at the Edmonton Chinatown Care Centre.
A female in her 90s died on November 29th two days after a male in his 90’s died in the same facility.
Deaths were also reported of a man in his 70’s on November 26 and a man and a woman, both in their 80’s, on the 25th. All the deaths are blamed on COVID-19.
Health authorities officially declared an outbreak at the Edmonton Chinatown Care Centre on October 20.
According to the Global News, as of Saturday, 32 residents were positive with COVID-19. 36 staff members at the centre also have active COVID-19 cases.
On Sunday alone, 1608 new cases of the coronavirus in the province of Alberta.
