Two teenagers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin are facing homicide charges in the rape and murder of Ee Lee, FOX 6 reports.
On September 16, deputies responded to a report of an unconscious woman in Washington Lagoon Park, TMJ4 News reports. The woman was 36-year-old Ee Lee. She had been beaten and raped.
First responders took Lee to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
Now, police say Kamare Lewis, 17, and Kevin Spencer, 15 each face one count of first-degree intentional homicide, as party to a crime and one count of first-degree sexual assault, as party to a crime.
One of the bystanders who found Lee’s body was walking with Lewis and Spencer in the park near the time of the assault, according to FOX 6. The bystander said they witnessed Lewis and Spencer beating Lee and forcing her to perform sexual acts. They said the incident was video recorded.
A second witness said he saw Lewis and Spencer beating Lee with tree branches. He said they discussed dragging her into the water.
The witness also said he received a video of the incident on his phone. His mother contacted the police on January 12. Her son received the video two days after the incident. She told him to “get rid of the video because it doesn’t have anything to do with him,” and to “stay away from Kamare Lewis.”
DNA from Spencer and Lewis were found on Lee’s jacket as well as her body.
