Asian Americans came together to speak out against anti-Asian hate and violence in Los Angeles Chinatown Saturday.
The group Stand for Asians Solidarity organized the protest in Los Angeles State Historic Park in Chinatown.
“It’s not OK and we shouldn’t tolerate this,” Andrew Ngin said to KTLA. “We need more people to understand this is going on and stand behind us.”
“For us to have been targeted recently is unjustified, is uncalled for,” said Kelly Mac, a rally organizer to Fox 11. She blamed a lack of education for people believing Asian Americans are responsible for the coronavirus.
“We just want to stand up for all. I did the same thing for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Brianna Taylor. said Young-Jin Yang to the protesters. “When there’s injustice in this world we have to stand up.”
