Members of the Asian American community in Atlanta came together to ensure a victim of the Atlanta spa shooting received a proper burial.

The brother of Daoyou Feng, 44, informed the  Atlanta Chinese American Alliance he could not afford to come from China to retrieve the body or to fly the body back to China, according to a Go Fund Me page.

Feng immigrated from Guangdong China in 1999 to the United States to seek a better life. She never married and had no children. She worked at Young’s Asian Massage where she was killed.

Organizers will use money raised for the Go Fund Me drive to pay for the memorial service held today and to hire an attorney to handle her personal assets and send those assets to her ailing parents in China.

As of Sunday night, $32,000 has been raised.

A longtime customer of Young’s Asian Massage described Feng as a kind hearted woman who was easy to get along with, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
