Indian American CEOs join global pandemic task force

Three high ranking Indian American business leaders Thursday put their muscle behind a global task force to tackle the pandemic in India.

The Quint reports CEOs Sundar Pichai of Google, Punit Renjen of Deloitte and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe joined a steering committee to encourage corporations to join the fight against COVID in India.

This follows action Wednesday by 40 corporations to provide $30 million to support the country.

According to Times Now News, the task force is a partnership between the US Chamber of Commerce and Business Roundtable. 16 businesses have pledged to send Ventilators to the South Asian country. The emphasis will be on oxygen concentrators.

Officially there are 400,000 new cases of COVID in India, but the case count is thought to be much higher.

It’s expected to peak in mid-May.
