Tiffany Moon staying with Real Housewives of Dallas

The first Asian American cast member of Real Housewives of Dallas is reportedly staying with the show despite concerns she endured racism from cast members.

“The rumors of her leaving the show are not true,”  said the publicist of Tiffany Moon to ET.

Moon stoked speculation of her departure after changing her Instagram profile on Thursday to “previous cast member of RHOD.”

The change followed reports tensions had increased between her and cast member Brandi Redmond.

Moon would quickly take “previous” out of her bio.

At issue is a video of Redmond mocking Asian people in 2017 which resurfaced in 2020. Moon took Redmond aside to explain to her how she found the video hurtful when they first met.

That conversation has made Redmond uncomfortable around Moon.

“I had to address it because it was the elephant in the room, and [Redmond] had brought it up,” said Moon to Vice. “And also, I wanted to address it because, again, as a person who’s dealt with racism, I felt responsible to let her and these other women know that this isn’t just some abstract concept, because they’ve never dealt with it in their lives, or probably have close friends who’ve dealt with it. I thought maybe if they see me as a real person with real feelings and a real family who has dealt with this, they’ll get it. I just wanted them to get it, and I’m not sure that they did.”

Bravo tells Vulture reports of Moon’s departure as “not accurate.”

According to Vulture, tensions escalated again after the May 11 show when housewife Kameron Westcott accused Moon of being racist towards Asians.

Then Wescott’s husband and brother-in-law both attacked Moon on Twitter.

Moon’s lawyer called their comments “reckless, defamatory and appalling.” “These attacks on her character will not be tolerated,” her attorney Andrew Brettler said.

Bravo is publicly supporting Moon.

“Anti-racism is, in fact, not a form of racism and the network stands by Dr. Tiffany Moon and her advocacy against racism and violence.”

Moon has thanked Bravo for its support.
